Job Details
In-depth knowledge of building construction and building regulations, which will allow you to work independently to effectively manage claims up to £150k under delegated authority
Travelling to customer's homes to assess liability, record, value and negotiate claim settlement for property damage, contents items and arranging temporary modular living for the customer where required
Maintaining claim records to a very high standard, ensuring all documents, photographs and communications are accurately recorded and managing claim reserves and payments, ensuring that total paid and reserved values are as accurate in the shorted period possible and maintained as such until the claim is concluded
Helping to develop a team of regional surveyors and contractors, sharing knowledge and acting as a technical referral point as well as utilising your current experience to help deliver accountabilities relating to customer service delivery and indemnity control within your region/area
Using the latest software available to scope any building works, discussing the scope of works with the customer and either agree to settle their claim or instructing one of our contractors/loss adjusters to complete the repairs
Providing technical support for complex claims initiatives within our field network and supply chain, and on occasion be required to lead simple initiatives where benefits will be tracked up to a period of 12 months
Skills we would love you to have
Extensive experience of working in a domestic insurance field surveying role, visiting customer's homes to validate claims and offering them clear and evidenced claim settlements - and have independently managed claims of varying complexity up to £150k
Extensive knowledge of building anatomies, able to apply insurance principles, calculate settlements and scope work in accordance with building regulations and best practice
Can project manage and mitigate flood, escape of water and extensive fire damage
The best of the best customer care skills when dealing with customers and damage in their property, with a detailed understanding of consumer duty and the ability to identify and work with vulnerable customers
