DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Department (HR) provides overall advice, guidance, and direction on all aspects of people management, as well as providing administrative support functions to the management of 800+ employees at various locations throughout the UK.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The primary objective for the HR Manager (Projects & Acquisitions) is to ensure that all HR activities for our acquisitions are managed effectively in accordance with company policies & procedures, as well as to devise, propose and implement these policies & procedures in support of the company’s key objectives. You will need to travel to sites throughout the UK as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Leadership
1. Provide dynamic and effective leadership and day-to-day management of the departmental and operational activities within the HR departments for our acquisitions.
2. Lead on, short and long term, operational HR plans for our acquisitions.
3. Lead and manage all HR information systems and provide administration level support for the 365 HR Portal for our acquisitions.
4. Collaborate with the HR Manager for MJ Quinn to support with projects or heavy workload.
Employee Relations
1. Manage and co-ordinate individual case management activity, working closely with and supporting the HR Team for acquisitions on any cases requiring dismissal or escalation.
2. Provide legally compliant advice & guidance on all HR matters such as absence management, conduct & capability matters, flexible working requests, recruitment & selection activities, pay & conditions, probationary periods, resignations, references & employment screening, statutory leave, and training.
3. Manage the onboarding process to ensure that job descriptions and contracts are up to date, all employees have the required new starter paperwork from induction to the end of their probationary period, ensure that review meetings are held, adequate training is provided, and associated documentation has been reviewed and received in line with company requirements and legislation.
4. Attend and chair formal hearings and informal meetings as and when appropriate.
5. Represent employer in employment tribunals as and when necessary.
6. Oversee the absence management process and ensure that the HR team are reducing the impact that absences have on the business.
7. Manage the transfer of employees in line with the movements of contracts and provide advice to managers of the contract to ensure the company is legally compliant.
8. Manage personal, sensitive, and confidential information in a professional manner and ensure that data is input into internal databases, is accurate, up to date and complies with best practice and the GDPR.
9. Deliver a career and development strategy for all employees.
10. Support the L&D Manager to implement, review and maintain the performance improvement process.
11. Partner with and support line managers to coach and guide around employee relations’ issues.
12. Utilise best practice to develop and improve the appraisal process and maximise engagement.
Compensation and Benefits

2. Assist managers with annual pay reviews, implementation, and administration.
3. Review and update company benefits, suggesting changes to provider when appropriate.

1. Keep all policies and procedures up-to-date and in line with any changes in legislation.
2. Communicate all policies and procedures and updates clearly to all employees.

EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Have proven experience of working as a HR generalist on both a strategic and operational level.
* Have experience in implementing HR Systems, policies, and procedures.
* Have a track record of developing people strategy and practices in other organisations.
* Have experience of acting as a role model and experience of leading teams.
* Have experience of developing team members and empowering staff to enhance personal and team performance.
* Be able to demonstrate commercial acumen.
* Have solid employment law knowledge and proven experience of applying updated legislation to a variety of HR situations.
* Have experience in managing a variety of complex employment matters such as TUPE, Redundancy, Dismissals, Breaches to T&C’s.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Essential
* Hold a Level 5+ in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or equivalent.
* Be a qualified CIPD member with evidence of continuous professional development.
* Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
* Have a legal right to work in the UK.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Department: People and Culture
Reports to: HR Director
Hours of Work: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £45,000-£50,000 per annum.
Work Location: MJ Quinn, Oak House, Overbrook Lane, Knowsley, L34 9FB
Travel Requirements: You will be primarily based at the above address; however, you may be required to support staff at our other office locations.
Holiday Entitlements: 6.6 week per annum, inclusive of bank holidays and company shutdowns.
