Job summary Working Part Time : 32 hours per week We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join a team of committed and effective MDT Coordinators supporting a busy Cancer team which includes consultants, nursing and managers. The role demands a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as the post holder will be entering patient information onto the Cancer Database (Somerset).The post also involves facilitation of the MDT meetings; ensuring patients are managed along the cancer pathway in accordance with national Cancer Targets and Cancer Audits. Knowledge of Cancer Targets and Cancer Database (Somerset) would be an advantage.The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, will be efficient at organising and prioritising a busy workload and remain calm under pressure; they will have an understanding of patient confidentiality.The post holder must be willing to be flexible in their working arrangements as an early start may be required one morning a week, and days may vary, particularly during periods of leave within the team.The successful candidate must be able to work using their own initiative, but also as part of a team. This post holder will be expected to work across all tumor sites within the team providing support to MDT meetings and managing patients along the cancer pathway. Main duties of the job The post holder will track the progress of cancer patients through the cancer pathway from referral to treatment or a diagnosis of non-cancer, ensuring accurate recording of data for Cancer Waiting-time Targets and National Audits. Liaising closely with consultants, specialist nurses, secretaries, diagnostic teams, managers and other staff (internal and external) in order to maintain efficient patient pathways. To organise, attend and provide administrative support for tumour specific MDT meetings. To accurately record the decisions made at MDT and ensure these decisions are actioned.
