Position Description: • Role requires expertise around providing advice, lead system and applications planning, performance, integration, operations, and/or release and deployment management. • The position demands one to be very proficient in working on FileNet 4.X or higher. • Based in Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, PEI, NL). One must be based in any of these provinces or must be willing to relocate from day one to Halifax (NS), Moncton (NB), Fredericton (NB) or Charlottetown (PEI) • This is a Hybrid role with two days working out of any of the above offices. Your future duties and responsibilities: • Define, deploy and lead systems and applications activities. • Identify, recommend, source, negotiate, implement improvements and solutions (buy/build/reuse) to improve customer experience, availability and cost reduction. • Influence product direction, foresee issues, identify solutions, work with leading-edge products untested and unproven in the market. • Manage complex deployment in load-balanced, service-oriented environment. • Potentially test, debug, and performance analyze and document environment components. • Troubleshoot initial failures, work to resolve them, communicate! • Huddle with business leaders, technology professionals, vendors and outsourced partners to assess project viability, priority and communications effectiveness. • Integrate technical solutions with the business environment, be aware of systems interdependencies and reusability, focus on seamless delivery. • Ensure appropriate security levels are established and maintained for processes, information exchange and system implementations. • Review, define, enforce and influence standards and quality metrics. • Ensure systems and operational availability meet or (even better) exceed negotiated service levels, report results. • Comply with both disaster and business recovery plans (and help define, review and test them). • Respect technology delivery practices, standards, project management disciplines. • Help develop and maintain issue prevention processes, participate in promptly determining and resolving incidents. • Identify opportunities and put forward ideas to support cost effectiveness. • May develop and contribute to third-party contract negotiations. • Apply industry best practices to put a standard support model and processes into practice. • Work with business and technology teams on ongoing projects to understand their requirements, design and solution and implement it. • Promote fresh ways of thinking, provide insight and recommendations based on industry practices and emerging technology trends. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: • Minimum of 3 -4 years' experience in FileNet (preferably 4.X or higher) • Minimum of 5 years (3 with a MS in Computer Science) experience in Java development • Minimum of 4 years' experience in J2EE (e.g. EJB, JSP, hibernate/JPA, Servlets, Portlets) • Experience with database access technologies (e.g., SQL) including DB2 and Oracle • Proficiency with client side UI technologies (e.g., HTML,CSS, Ajax/Dojo, JavaScript) • Experience with the SDLC (Plan, Define, Design, etc.) in order to work outside of Agile where necessary. This will help at times when capturing/translating business needs (into technical capabilities and requirements, etc.) Nice to Have: • Familiarity with UML (unified modeling language) • Familiarity with software management methodologies (e.g., RUP, Agile Development-Scrum, Kanban) • Familiarity with software engineering design patterns and best practices • Familiarity with community frameworks (e.g., Spring, Struts, Hibernate) • Familiarity with software configuration management tools *LI-AD1 Skills: · FileNet · Java Enterprise Editions JEE · WebLogic · Hibernate · SQL What you can expect from us: Together, as owners, let’s turn meaningful insights into action.
