We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic midwife who has a keen interest in the education of midwives and the wider multidisciplinary team.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered midwife who has an interest/passion for clinical education and teaching. The successful candidate will work 37.5 hrs a week as a Clinical Educator leading on the mandatory training programme for midwives ensuring compliance with Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts Maternity Incentive Scheme, Saving Babies Lives V2 and other nationally driven training expectations.
You will work with the multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver a robust induction programme for any new starters within the maternity team.
The successful candidate will also work clinically alongside midwives to support in the learning, supervision, and assessment of new skills and extended scopes of practice.
Key skills and qualities required include being organised, diplomatic, approachable, and autonomous; being able to maintain confidentiality; and being a good team player.
A passion for teaching on both group and individual basis, and the ability to use flexible teaching strategies is imperative to this post to ensure all learning styles can be met.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the delivery of a comprehensive and ongoing training program for all staff through clinical teaching and the provision of specialist knowledge and education to meet the requirements of Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts Maternity Incentive Scheme, Saving Babies Lives V2 and other nationally driven education expectations.
The post holder will be a clinical expert in the delivery of midwifery care and will provide hands-on assessment, supervision, and development of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
As a lead specialist, the post holder will act as a point of contact within the Trust for the delivery of specialist knowledge and training relating to the care of Midwifery across all Divisions and will work within the wider multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will work alongside the staff in a role as a clinical educator but will also be expected to work clinically in periods of high acuity.
