3 - 5 years of experience, including design of temporary works and reinforced concrete structures.
Their day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Completing all aspects of Civil engineering design for projects: Briefs, calculations, reviews of other's designs, risk assessments, drawings, etc.
2. Coordinating with the CAD Team to create and review drawings/models of their designs.
3. Coordinating with site delivery teams to get input on constructability and preferred methods of construction.
4. Input into various reviews of designs, such as HAZOPS, ALMs, Stage Gate reviews.
5. Completing geotechnical reports and arranging ground investigation works for projects.
6. Completing site visits to discuss works and preferred techniques with operatives, review designs and installation, and receive feedback on how to improve future designs.
The successful candidate will be expected to regularly visit sites during the construction phase of the projects. Although variable to suit the needs of the work, we would expect the split to be typically 3 days in the office and 2 days on site per week. All sites will be within Yorkshire Water's area of operation, and reasonable travel expenses to the site location will be covered through expenses.
