Position Overview:
An exciting new position has opened up as Assistant Accountant reporting directly to the Assistant Financial Controller.
You will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Financial Controllers (AFC) with the Accounts Payable function and weekly KPI monitoring on AP along with query resolution. This role will require communicating with internal/external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of queries and settlement of invoices. As with all roles within the Finance department, the role will involve financial control testing to ensure SOX compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dealing with Supplier queries
2. Resolving purchase order/invoicing issues
3. Assisting with Balance Sheet Reconciliations post month-end
4. Working in accordance with SOX
5. Support Intercompany
6. Month-end journals
7. Dealing with ad hoc requests as and when required
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Excellent IT skills especially Excel
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Mature and pro-active approach with the commitment to exceeding internal customer requirements.
4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple conflicting deadlines.
5. Flexible problem-solving approach.
6. Team player.
7. Self-motivated.
8. Good organization skills
9. BPCS experience
10. Good working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) and AS400Query
11. Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting and Finance field / AAT level 3 with a desire in pursuing ACCA/CIMA
