Amazon Global Selling is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Developer to spearhead the development of industrial clusters across Southeast Asia (SEA). In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and scaling high-potential manufacturing and export clusters throughout the SEA region. You will drive development of cross-border e-commerce capabilities within established and emerging industrial zones, working closely with multiple Amazon teams, local governments, and industry associations to expedite progress. This role requires a deep understanding of SEA’s industrial policy making and proven experience in scaling B2B initiatives through strategy defining and planning.
Key job responsibilities
1. Industrial Cluster Strategy Development:
- Design and execute cluster development strategies across key SEA origins, focusing on high-potential manufacturing hubs and export zones
- Develop localized ecosystem frameworks for different SEA markets, considering unique industrial strengths and export capabilities
- Create metrics-driven approaches to identify and prioritize industrial clusters based on growth potential and strategic value
2. Ecosystem Building and Partnerships:
- Establish strategic partnerships with local governments, industry associations, and key stakeholders in priority industrial zones
- Drive initiatives to integrate cross-border e-commerce capabilities within existing industrial clusters
- Design and implement cluster-specific seller acquisition and growth programs
- Coordinate with local authorities to align Amazon's cluster development plans with national/regional economic initiatives
3. Performance Management and Growth:
- Establish and track KPIs for cluster development, including seller density, sales growth, and new seller acquisition
- Target and nurture high-potential sellers ($1M+ annual export revenue) within identified clusters
- Drive cluster-specific initiatives to enhance seller capabilities and export readiness
4. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Public Policy team to monitor local economic policies and develop aligned strategies that leverage government initiatives and emerging opportunities
- Collaborate with Strategic Marketing to execute one-to-many engagement strategies through industry associations and design targeted cluster-specific campaigns
- Lead cross-functional projects across Amazon teams (Marketing, Seller Support, Product, Legal) to ensure seamless execution of cluster initiatives and removal of growth barriers
- Drive knowledge sharing and best practices implementation across global teams
Basic qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience in business development, government relations, or industry development
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
- Experience working in multiple SEA markets
- Track record of developing and executing complex stakeholder initiatives
- Proven ability to influence senior government officials and industry leaders
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or related field
- Experience in cross-border e-commerce or digital transformation of traditional industries
- Deep understanding of SEA's industrial landscape and manufacturing sectors
- Strong network within SEA's government and industry associations
- Experience in developing and scaling B2B initiatives across multiple markets
- Fluency in English and one or more SEA languages
Key job responsibilities
Define RoA SPN Expansion Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the SPN in RoA, aligning with Amazon's overall business objectives, seller experience goals, and marketplace growth plans.
Define and optimize the criteria, processes, and tools for SPN onboarding, tiering, and performance management to drive a high-quality and scalable network.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize service domains, product categories, and geographies for SPN acquisition and expansion.
SPN Evaluation and Selection:
Establish robust evaluation frameworks and methodologies to assess SPN potential based on factors such as domain expertise, service quality, scalability, and compliance adherence.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and seller needs to make informed decisions on SPN selection and ecosystem composition.
Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives:
Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key SPN partners and ecosystem stakeholders to drive collaborative initiatives and network growth.
Identify and drive strategic initiatives to enhance SPN capabilities, incentives, visibility, and integration with Amazon's seller experience and commercial programs.
