Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Cloud Business Analyst for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £400-£450/day (Outside IR35). This role will be hybrid working, with 6 days on site per month, with some flexibility around project work.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for the project, including data quality and retention rules.
- Map current processes and identify inefficiencies; work with stakeholders to define the goals and priorities of the data mirroring and ETL processes.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements, ensuring they align with project objectives such as compliance, automation, scalability, and improved analytics.
- Collaborate with service designers, user researchers, and technical teams to ensure the solution aligns with business objectives and compliance/ regulatory requirements.
- Provide ongoing analysis and reporting on project progress and business outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with project team and stakeholders, ensuring that work is priorities and progress are well understood and any blockers are highlighted and addressed quickly.
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis within data-focused projects.
- Strong skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with ETL processes and data quality standards.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to data compliance.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Visio.
