Materials Selection: Advising on appropriate materials and design considerations to prevent in-service materials degradation and achieve specified requirements. Understanding the corrosivity of external environments and internal process conditions with respect to their impact on carbon steels, corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs) and non-metallic materials. Designing test programmes to assess materials suitability for service conditions where theoretical assessment is not feasible. Corrosion Management: Auditing existing systems and conducting corrosion risk assessments, materials adequacy audits and reviewing / recommending corrosion control and monitoring requirements. Also conducting corrosion risk assessments using statistical modelling and uncertainty principles. Integrity Management & Risk-Based Inspection: Conducting fitness-for-service assessments (to Level 1 and 2) on piping, pipelines and static equipment and developing risk-based in-service inspection and monitoring plans. Corrosion Control Design: Selection, design and specification of corrosion control measures including, material selection, chemical treatment requirements, coating specification and cathodic protection, specification and related troubleshooting. Experience with Industry modelling packages and Industry guidance: Use of ECE and Larkton CM packages would be beneficial, with specific reference to O2/C02/H2S modelling impacts. Similarly strong knowledge of Sour Service materials guidance (ISO15156) would be expected. An developing interest in the developing aspects of CCUS with respect to material selection and standards would be useful., Joining our experienced team of consultancy engineers based within our business at Trafford Park, Manchester, the candidate will be looking to grow their career through managing consultancy and project opportunities.
