Welcome to Leith Hill School (opening Sep 2025)
We are a co-educational specialist day school for pupils aged 7 to 16. With autism and/or ADHD as a primary need, our pupils are likely to have co-occurring social, emotional and communication difficulties and other associated needs which may affect their wellbeing and enjoyment of learning. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to making a meaningful, lifelong impact on our pupils’ lives.
Our aim is to inspire ambition, build resilience, and foster a love of learning. Pupils benefit from the support of a dedicated team of highly qualified teachers, therapists, and other professionals who collaborate closely to create personalised learning and therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs. In addition to academic achievement, including the attainment of national qualifications such as GCSEs and equivalent, we emphasise emotional wellbeing, resilience, and the development of social and independent living skills.
With a school culture that prioritises pupil and staff wellbeing, we offer a supportive and inclusive environment where people work collaboratively to embrace the 4C’s: confidence, competence, creativity and character. Benefits include pension, on-site car park and free lunch. A comprehensive CPD program is being developed.
We have a number of teaching roles available for September 2025
Are you an inspirational and innovative KS2 or KS3 - KS4 teacher? Do you share our passion for ensuring that each pupil is recognised as an individual and treated with respect? We have a number of KS2 (ideally with a focus on either maths or phonics and reading) and lead KS3 and KS4 subject roles available with responsibility for planning, delivering, assessing and reporting on the curriculum. You will prepare and review long and medium-term plans to ensure appropriateness of learning objectives, high levels of engagement and innovative practices and identify and support the implementation of cross-curricular opportunities specifically around subject areas. You will report on pupil attainment, engagement and progress and contribute to the creation of reports at the end of each term and at the end of each academic year for external stakeholders and governance. All teachers are expected to monitor and support pupil pastoral wellbeing and it is expected that most teachers will also lead a tutor group.
Qualifications
You will be a qualified and experienced teacher with a strong commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of our school. Previous experience of supporting needs associated with autism and an understanding of the processes involved in EHCP documentation would be beneficial.
For further information, please contact careers@leithhillschool.com. You will be required to complete an application form in line with safer recruitment requirements. Initial interviews may take place online. We reserve the right to interview and close early.
