An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB) as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist. Cheshire and Merseyside ICB covers a population of 2.7 million people with services provided by 17 NHS trusts, 349 GP practices, 9 local authorities, and 590 pharmacies. The post holder will work as a senior member of a place Medicines Optimisation team to support in delivering the objectives of the functions of the team.
Working as a senior member of the Medicines Optimisation Team, you will identify, promote, and share best practice. You will also support quality improvement with respect to medicines optimisation and ensure the safe, effective, and economic use of medicines. You will support junior colleagues in development and work with partners across organisations to drive improvement.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be able to analyse highly complex sensitive information relating to medication, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and provide advice and support to appropriate colleagues in primary care and across the health and care system. They will also have a strong clinical background and the ability to drive improvements in a fast-changing environment.
Work closely with colleagues in the medicines management team to deliver the vision of the ICB to ensure strategic alignment with health and care priorities and equity across the footprint with the aims of minimising harm and maximising benefit for patients, from medicines prescribed or supplied, alongside achieving cost-effective care, across all settings.
Manage delivery of development of Medicines Management services that meet national and local aspirations and comply with relevant national guidance. Manage projects in line with service demands.
The post holder will support the development of the ICB's Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Priorities including the Quality, Innovation, Productivity, and Prevention (QIPP) Programme and be responsible for delivery of the medicines management component of the plans relevant to their area of work e.g. at place, Area Prescribing Group (APG).

Person Specification
Experience
* Significant experience of working within a primary care setting.
* Evidence of experience of working on projects where the post holder uses their own initiative and manages their own timescales.
Qualifications
* Independent prescribing qualification or working towards/intention of obtaining.
* Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent e.g. completion of CPPE pathway.
Skills
* Evidence of managing staff.
* Evidence of ability to make judgements involving complex facts or situations that require the analysis and interpretation of a range of options.
* Evidence of ability to prioritise work-related demands and to meet deadlines.
* Evidence of ability to accept guidance and constructive criticism.
