Qualifications
Essential Criteria
1. HCPC Registration
2. IBMS validated Biomedical Sciences Degree or Equivalent
3. Evidence of CPD in accordance with Health Professions Council guidance
4. Completed IBMS Specialist Diploma, or appropriate short courses or individual learning programs, or evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience
Desirable Criteria
1. Train for trainers
2. IBMS Immunohistochemistry DEP
Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Evidence of working as part of a team
2. Good communication skills including ability to communicate with peers and senior staff and clinical users of service
3. Able to work unsupervised, to organise workload, and to organise and train less qualified or less experienced staff
Knowledge and Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Evidence of post-registration speciality training, in accordance with IBMS guidelines or equivalent
2. Have extensive working knowledge of laboratory areas, including both practical and theoretical knowledge of the various methods employed
3. Able to operate and maintain complex automated and semiautomated equipment
4. Knowledge of Laboratory IT programmes and good keyboard skills

Applicant Requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
