Teaching Personnel are looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our partner SEN school in North Cambridge.
The role will take place Monday to Friday during term time, the placement will be a temporary to permanent placement upon a successful probationary period.
The school caters for children with complex learning and physical needs and are looking for teaching assistants to join them from January.
In this role as a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
Support the class teacher in creative and engaging lessons.
Promote independence of pupils and encourage them to reach their full potential.
There may be a requirement to support pupils with personal care
Engage with and build strong relationships with students to support their overall success and development
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience working with children and young people with SEN
Adaptability and flexibility within their role to different situations or needs.
Empathy, patience and the ability to stay calm when students are struggling with emotional and physical regulation
Experience with de-escalation techniques/ Team Teach (Desirable)
Full time availability within school hours
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
