Temporary Operations Support Officer/Admin – Construction Services Job Ref: Berneslai 0009 797B / 1 Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 4-5 months City: Barnsley, South Yorkshire The role will be mainly office based with some opportunity for home working. Basic DBS disclosure required for this role The role will include working as part of a team to carry out general admin and clerical duties such as inputting timesheets, ordering materials and processing works instruction to contractors. Key Responsibilities:
* To assist in the delivery of the Berneslai Homes Delivery Plan, the HRA Business Plan and the Berneslai Homes Stock Maintenance Performance Management Plan.
* To assist in the development and implementation of service improvements with the objective of increasing effectiveness, efficiency and eliminating waste.
* Contribute to Construction Services achieving Best Value, including fundamental best value reviews and performance plans.
* Assist in the production of reports for Operational Managers on installation, repairs and maintenance, job costs.
* Ensure that Berneslai Homes Financial regulations and standing orders are complied with.
* Assist in resolving queries and enquiries from tenants, clients, customers and stakeholders.
* Prepare correspondence relating to customers.
* Assist in the collation of information for incorporation into final accounts and valuations.
* Process material and equipment requisitions.
* Ensure that the maintenance and calibration of gas, and solid fuel CAT and testing equipment is carried out.
Qualifications:
1. Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, OR ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar field.
Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role.
2. Experience of working in a Construction, Engineering, Maintenance or Manufacturing environment.
3. Experience of providing technical support to operational management, including an understanding of procedures used to improve service delivery.
4. Substantial knowledge of the issues relating to the delivery of services within Construction, Repairs and Maintenance.
5. An awareness of Financial Regulations in relation to procurement rules.
6. Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
7. An understanding and commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
8. Proven ability to use IT packages including standard Microsoft Office software.
