Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their occupational needs and goals related to their medical conditions.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and promote safe discharge planning.
* Educate patients and their families about strategies to manage daily activities and support rehabilitation efforts.
* Collaborate closely with nursing staff, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clinical outcomes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with departmental policies and relevant regulations.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service.
* Provide guidance and support to junior staff and therapy students as required.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with HCPC.
2. Experience working in an acute hospital setting, particularly within a medicines division or related area.
3. Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
