About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join their engineering team, maintaining a diverse fleet of buses, vans, and cars.
The role involves servicing, maintenance, repairs, inspections, diagnostics, and MOT preparation. The ideal candidate will carry out these duties efficiently, reliably, and safely within the workshop while also having opportunities for skill development within the transport industry.
Requirements
1. Perform scheduled vehicle safety inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with DVSA’s Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness (both in the workshop and on-site when needed).
2. Attend vehicle breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs where practical.
3. Maintain regular communication with the Engineering/Fleet department regarding repairs and work required.
4. Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Rental Operations to ensure passengers are transported safely during breakdowns and vehicle transfers.
5. Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations while on company and customer premises.
6. Accurately complete compliance documentation using PDA/Tablet systems and submit reports in a timely manner.
7. Utilize electronic email and diagnostic systems for fault identification and repair.
8. Identify and report non-fair wear & tear damage that may be recharged to the vehicle user.
9. Report any incidents, faulty equipment, or potential safety hazards to the Health & Safety Manager.
10. Conduct road testing of serviced and repaired vehicles to ensure they are safe and ready for operation.
11. Diagnose and repair basic electrical system faults and demonstrate an understanding of hydraulic systems.
