This is an exciting opportunity to support Babcock through the conversion of vehicles to meet military and emergency services requirements. In Walsall, we convert vehicles to meet a wide variety of requirements, from the production of police vehicles to Military Armoured Cars to serving in volatile environments and protecting against roadside explosions and mine attacks. In our Southwest facility, we have developed a flexible vehicle assembly line to build vehicles at scale for our UK and overseas partners.
As an Engineering Administrator, you’ll support a multidisciplinary team of engineers, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring that engineering activities align with project requirements, Company standards, and organisational goals.
* Prepare, update, and maintain engineering documents such as specifications, drawings, and technical manuals.
* Assist in the preparation of reports and technical documentation for clients, contractors, and internal teams.
* Provide support for engineering calculations, simulations, and technical research.
* Support the engineers in reviewing test results and ensuring compliance with project standards and specifications.
* Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
* Track inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain records of purchased items.
* Assist with invoicing, budget tracking, and cost analysis for engineering projects.
* Maintain and update project logs, documentation, and databases.
* Coordinate and communicate with other departments (e.g., procurement, production) to ensure project milestones are met.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is adaptable from various locations including Plymouth, Bristol, or Walsall.

Essential experience of the Engineering Administrator
* An understanding of design principles, processes, and techniques or background in project administration.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder management.
* Technical proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software and basic engineering principles is advantageous (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project), or a willingness and desire to learn.
* Problem-solving: Identifying issues and suggesting improvements.
Qualifications for the Engineering Administrator

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
