Description:
Our client, based near Heathrow, requires a confident and passionate individual to take on the position of Business Development Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving budgeted sales revenue, maximizing business opportunities from existing and new accounts, and securing new customers.
As the BDM, you must be self-motivated and you will report directly to the Managing Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Identify and develop new strategic opportunities in ecommerce parcel and cross border logistics with particular focus on Asia, India, Australia, and the rest of the company network.
2. Active social media engagement – sharing to your international network and assisting in building brand awareness.
3. Know-how within the e-commerce/Courier/Exports International business.
4. Work closely with the General Manager in rolling out the UK strategy – supporting in building of case studies, decks, social media posts, and customer promotions.
5. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the costing structure (cost of sales) in order to build and sell a profitable tariff to the customers.
6. Analysis on the profitability of each customer/service/trade lane on an ongoing basis.
7. Gross Profit Analysis (GPA Reporting).
8. Achieve the budgeted sales revenue.
9. Build and maintain good customer relationships.
10. Attend trade shows and events.
11. Sales support and monitoring operational performance to ensure the best possible service is being provided at all times.
12. Support customer services by liaising with customers.
13. Travel is needed including frequent visits to customers.
Abilities & Requirements:
1. Ability to develop own client base.
2. Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
4. Highly independent, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
5. Industry experience is required.
6. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
7. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Sales Software (GPA Reporting).
You MUST have a valid UK driver’s license and vehicle in order to visit customers.
Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5.30pm, 1 day per week in the Office, 4 in the Field
Salary: £45K - £50K + £200 per month car allowance + commission scheme
