Buyer c.£40k plus bonus – Central Doncaster – flexi Mon-Fri hours
Buyer, duties:
Carry out purchases of company products at the best price and service level
Ensure freight and certification costs are fully understood, controlled and reduced wherever possible, chasing all purchase orders to ensure timely receipt
Manage supplier delivery slippages to recover programme delivery timescales
Maintain a progressive and professional business relationship with all suppliers
Monitor and maintain supplier performance and the associated reporting
Monitor and progress business issues particularly relating to the co-ordination of queries from the satellite spares department
Work with SAGE 200, Excel and the software tool Phocas (training can be provided)
Search for new suppliers UK and overseas to continuously improve the cost effectiveness and efficiency of supply chains
Conduct supplier expediting and auditing visits when required, both UK & overseas
(usually, max 1 or 2 times per year – all travel and accommodation paid by employer)
Buyer, requirements:
A hunger for saving the company money, enthusiasm for the whole process
Previous buying experience within a ‘buying and selling’ business is essential
As is experience of supplier management, negotiating best terms with current service providers and sourcing new world wide suppliers, transport and currier services
Experience of SAGE 200 would be ideal as would be CIPS, but these are both preferred
Experience from within retail or buying and selling is the key
