Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage various activities will be essential in fostering positive relationships with both children and their families. The ideal person will have a friendly personality and strong organisation skills.
Little Chicks Day Nursery is a new setting dedicated to supporting the development of children's speech, language, and communication. We have an onsite Speech and Language Therapist and ensure our environment is communication-friendly for all of our children.
We are a family-friendly setting with family-friendly hours.
As part of our safer recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an application form as well as a self-disclosure form prior to the interview. All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide contact details for 2 references.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 18 months - 4 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning.
* Observe and assess children's progress, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive team atmosphere, demonstrating leadership when necessary.
* Support with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play sessions, ensuring all children feel secure and valued.
Qualifications
* A recognised, full and relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential (at least a level 3 qualification).
* Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A proactive drive to engage with children and foster their development through play-based learning.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a busy nursery environment.
