The role provides oversight and advice to the Military staff covering routes to market, use of our internal on-line systems including raising requisitions and resolving contract management issues. Job description This role leads on the delivery of a procurement pipeline and provides contract management to a wide and varied portfolio in support of Home Command. You will be responsible for a procurement Team delivering commercial activity ranging from low-value procurement to more complex and high-profile requirements against challenging deadlines. You will be responsible for managing a team of a variety of grades and commercial experience. The role requires direct interface with Home Command leadership to provide expert commercial advice recommending commercial solutions and deliver effective procurement activity and you will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other MOD Commercial areas as well as other Government Departments. The role leads on the creation and delivery of a procurement pipeline and is required to track and provide updates on all Home Command requirements and contracts across the portfolio. Providing commercial advice to Army customers, including routes to market, engagement with other Commercial Delivery Partners, commercial approvals and on commercial purchase-to-payment systems exploitation. Chairing the Home Command requirements prioritisation Board and a member of the Army Prioritisation Board advocating on Home Command needs. Generating ideas for securing better value for money in meeting Army capability requirements through support to requirement setting and development of commercial strategies. Identifying, developing, and testing innovative commercial models with Army customers. Increasing Contract agility and driving intelligence through a holistic approach and key stakeholder management. Facilitating engagement with wider Army Commercial colleagues, supporting the Army customer in developing greater innovation in its capability solutions particularly at initial stages of capability and requirement definition. Enabling industry engagement in the pursuit of innovation. Developing, maximising, and sustaining improved commercial awareness across the Army customer. Oversight of the procurement team(s) within the role remit, providing Commercial advice and guidance and Line Management of SEO(s). Tracking all of HC procurements and Live Contracts including relets. Acting as a point of escalation for issues arising during procurement and management activities.
