Job Description:
This job is responsible for overseeing programs and projects specific to corporate change initiatives that impact how the bank does business, provides a product or service, or executes a function. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact to department managers for critical change initiatives and communicating, influencing, and negotiating vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage resources. Job expectations include delivering regulatory and executive material and ensuring results align to program strategy, simplification, and new capabilities.
This role in the Enterprise Response & Initiatives (ERI) Program Management Office team will manage programs addressing regulatory issues and/or complex changes to laws, rules, and regulations. These programs oversee changes to people, process, and technology as enhancements are made to end-to-end processes spanning multiple organizations across the Enterprise.
Responsibilities:
• Defines program controls, processes, procedures, reporting cadence, decision governance structures, and ways of working with key stakeholders.
• Works closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new change initiatives.
• Monitors the execution of defined tasks through tracking of program milestones and their statuses, developing program plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and overcomes program risks, and produces program reports for managers and stakeholders.
• Identifies key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors to perform in alignment with the program objectives.
• Works with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department, leading them to negotiate decision making for efficient and effective resolution.
• Meets with stakeholders to provide transparency into project issues and decisions on services, builds positive relationships, asks questions, and uses tools to uncover root causes to challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations.
• Accountable for the successful initiation, planning, monitoring, control and closure of a program/project – defining program structure, leadership and establishing ownership and accountability.
• Ensures clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities for project team members – clarity on ownership of execution within the FLU / and or owners of the content and deliverables.
• Leading the content owners and SME’s through the analysis of present-state processes and pain points, developing approaches for defining potential solutions, proposing comprehensive business cases for improvement recommendations, and facilitating program launch.
• Engages appropriate partners to drive work and deliver against expected outcomes – creates transparency and ability to hold the partners, owners and SME’s accountable for that delivery utilizing pre-defined escalation paths when needed.
• Expert ability to use tools, facts and approaches to proactively manage the work, drive accountability and utilize escalation paths to ensure on time delivery of quality outcomes and full transparency of the work to all key stakeholders - No surprises approach.
• Lead the programs in a manner that instills the accountability for sustainability with the FLU’s / Owners and incorporates sustainability into the work to facilitate a smooth transition to the owner.
Required Qualifications:
* 7+ years of financial services experience in roles of increasing responsibility and complexity
* Proven experience managing complex and cross-functional programs or projects
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience with Audit Issues and/or Regulatory Issues
* Excellent communication skills – written and oral
* Experience managing large-scale business process and/or organization change
* Bachelor's Degree
