About the Role: As Hostel Manager, you'll be more than just a manager – you'll be a leader, a team builder, and a community champion. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel, ensuring exceptional guest service, managing your team's performance, and driving revenue growth. You'll also play a key role in the wider Hostelling Scotland management team, collaborating with other managers across the country. What You'll Do: Lead and inspire your team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Manage all aspects of hostel operations, from bookings and revenue management to maintenance and housekeeping. Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and optimise hostel services. Build strong relationships with local communities and businesses. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety (training provided if needed). Collaborate with the Operations Manager for support and guidance. Be prepared to "muck in" and support the team when needed, including assisting with changeovers (a reasonable level of physical fitness is required). What You'll Bring: Proven experience in a management role within the hospitality or a similar industry. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for creating positive guest experiences. Strong budget management skills and experience. Confidence in directing contractors. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships. A positive attitude, a sense of humour, and a willingness to work alongside your team.
