Do you want to join our renowned Employment team, at our Birmingham office? If so, this may be the role for you...
The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic employment law solicitor to join the Employment, Pensions and Immigration National Service line (NSL), based in our Birmingham office. You will be advising employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters across the health and care sector, as well as engaging in business development to promote the firm's practice.
The work undertaken by our Birmingham team is varied and spans a mix of sectors including health and care clients (both private and NHS); commercial clients (including automotive, manufacturing and retail); and higher education institutions.
The person
You will have at least 2 years' experience as an employment lawyer, gained in a reputable law firm or through in-house experience.
You will be self-starting, possessing common sense and initiative, and the ability to work as a team-player on complex matters. You will also have very good time and documentation management skills and keen attention to detail. You will be able to build strong relationships with clients and have excellent interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work with others, influence, and persuade.
Some previous experience of providing employment law support to health and care clients is desirable.
The team
You will work with Jog Hundle, Employment Partner, as well as other members of our Birmingham employment team. You will be part of the cross-office Employment, Pensions and Immigration NSL, which is headed up by partner David Mills. As part of that cross-office team, you may also be required to assist colleagues in other offices.
The benefits
As you'd expect, we offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.
Pre-employment screening
If we offer you a role, we will conduct comprehensive pre-employment screening. This screening will include, but is not limited to, a basic DBS, verification of your right to work, a three-year employment history, and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Full details of our pre-screening employment process are available upon request.
