We are seeking a Data Engineer Analyst to join our team in a hybrid role, combining data engineering and analytics to empower data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
As a Data Analyst, you will be instrumental in developing the infrastructure to process and store data, while also focusing on reporting and analytics. This role will ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and usability to support business decisions and improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data.
- Design and optimise data processing workflows to enhance performance and scalability.
- Implement cloud-based data storage solutions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and ensure seamless integration across business systems.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security standards, and GDPR requirements.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools to provide actionable insights.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends and patterns that inform decision-making across departments.
- Automate manual reporting processes, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and build relevant tracking mechanisms.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business teams to understand their reporting needs and ensure data accessibility.
- Translate business requirements into structured data models and analytical solutions.
- Educate and guide stakeholders on how to leverage data for informed decision-making.
- Foster a data-driven culture across the organisation.
Key Skills & Experience:
- SQL & Database Querying: Strong proficiency in writing and optimising SQL queries for relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Power BI & DAX: Experience in developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI with a strong understanding of DAX.
- ETL & Data Pipelines: Experience with tools like dbt, SSIS, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory for building and maintaining ETL processes.
- Excel (Advanced): Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modelling.
- Cloud Data Platforms: Familiarity with Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Python or R (Desirable): Ability to use Python or R for data manipulation and automation.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of best practices for data security, governance, and GDPR compliance.
