Job summary An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Audiologist has become available in the Audiology department at Walsall Manor Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who is passionate about providing high quality care to patients. Applicants for this post should have a recognised degree in Audiology or BAAT Parts I & II with BTEC in MPPM, or equivalent, and be registered with AHCS/HCPC. The post holder will carry out all the duties of a senior member of the audiology staff including adult and child hearing assessment and rehabilitation. This post will additionally require the post holder to support the Head of Department with progression towards IQIPS/UKAS accreditation and maintenance of accreditation once achieved. Main duties of the job The post holder will be required to undertake audiological tests on outpatients to inform clinical diagnosis and provide factual reports. In addition, they will provide expert service and rehabilitation of hearing aid users, out-patients and domiciliary cases. The post holder will act as a role model and undertake clinical supervision, mentoring and training of junior staff. The post holder will be expected to update their own professional knowledge, keeping abreast of new digital hearing aid technology The post holder will share responsibility for the day to day running of Audiology Department within the requirements laid down by the Head Of Department and will help in providing an efficient service within Walsall Hospitals/clinics.
