Principal Engineer, Zero Trust Network (ZTN)

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer of Zero Trust Networks to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Zero Trust architecture. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of GSK's digital infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
In this role you will
1. Lead the development and execution of GSK's Zero Trust Network strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cybersecurity best practices.
2. Design, implement, and manage Zero Trust Network solutions, including network segmentation, identity and access management, and continuous monitoring.
3. Collaborate with IT, security, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of Zero Trust principles across the organization.
4. Assist in risk assessments and threat modeling to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
5. Implement security policies, standards, and procedures related to Zero Trust Network architecture.
6. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to cybersecurity team members and other IT personnel on Zero Trust principles and practices.
7. Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Zero Trust and cybersecurity, and recommend enhancements to GSK's security posture.
8. Coordinate with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate third-party Zero Trust solutions.
9. Participate with incident response efforts related to network security breaches, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
10. Prepare and present reports on Zero Trust Network initiatives, performance metrics, and security incidents to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
1. Significant experience in networking, with a large portion focused on network security.
2. Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles, frameworks, and technologies, including network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and identity and access management.
3. Proven experience designing and implementing Zero Trust Network solutions in a complex, global enterprise environment.
4. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat landscape, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
5. Proficiency with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
9. Ability to think differently, to create positive disruption of the status quo, and communicate ideas effectively in writing.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
1. Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.
2. Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
3. Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
4. Experience with management of environments with 100K plus users.
5. Skilled in operating systems and database administration.
6. Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
7. Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
