In this role you will act as the key Finance & Accounting partner to the CEO and lead on all aspects of company finances including Finance Operations (AP, AR), Management Accounting, Financial Control, Balance Sheet Control, Annual Audit and generally play a role managing all aspects of company finances. You will be responsible for communicating key findings with leadership and working to achieve positive outcomes through business partnering which will include financial analysis, commentary and helping the business to use financial information to help improve business performance. You will report into the CEO and have a dotted line report into the Group finance team and the role is suitable for a fully-qualified accountant with at least 5 years post-qualifying experience, excellent people management skills and experience of a broad role supporting leadership with accounting and finance information. We are looking for someone with experience gained in a manufacturing company or other industry that is inventory and stock intensive. Knowledge of manufacturing costing would be a distinct advantage but the key aspect of your experience will be prior experience sitting as part of a Senior Leadership Team as the key finance staff member. Your role will include: Leadership: You will have a small team to manage and be responsible for setting goals, appraisals and of helping to mentor their development. You will play an important role in the day to day management of the business and lead other staff members indirectly. Management Accounting: Forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and performance management. You will drive information to support top-line and bottom-line growth opportunities. External Reporting: HMRC returns, annual accounts and other statutory returns will all sit within your team. You will ensure that the company satisfies all taxation and legal obligations through partnerships with advisory firms. Financial Operations: All aspects of recording sales, purchase ledger and credit control activities will fall within your team. You will delegate this activity to staff members and project manage improvements to finance operations. Systems, processes and ways of working: Part of your role is to support systems development, implementation and to find improvements to processes and ways of working. This is a broad role in support of senior leadership, you will need lead and influence all senior leadership team members on finances. To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience: Qualified Accountant: You will hold a full professional accounting membership and at least 5 years post-qualifying experience. This experience will have been gained in a manufacturing or other similar business environment. People leadership: You will have prior experience of staff management including recruitment, training, development, and growth of staff. You will also have experience of indirectly and influencing other business functions through business partnering. External and Internal Finance: You will have had experience of Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and external Statutory Reporting. International subsidiary experience would be a major plus point but you must experience of managing external professional advisory relationships. Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate at all levels within the business. You will be used to dealing with a variety of people from different backgrounds. Business Partnering ability: You will have strategic and commercial ability, able to analyse information and draw meaningful conclusions that can be used to improve and develop the business.
