We currently have an opportunity for a Team Manager Long Tail Claims in our Brisbane office, who will be responsible for ensuring AAL internal and external customer expectations are exceeded, and business objectives are met by leading a team to enable the delivery of a high standard of customer service. Important to your success: · Ensure the delivery of superior customer service whilst ensuring that all compliance and risk policies, legal and regulatory obligations are met through the application of technical skills and expertise to enhance customer care · Develop and maintain communication and relationships with other functional areas of the business. · Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team with the aim of improving negotiation, customerservice and technical skills, ensuring that tasks, accountabilities and development opportunities are apportioned equitably, creating a focused, capable and engaged team · Act as escalation point by assisting in resolving complex queries or complaints beyond the skills, knowledge or authority of team members, identifying root causes, as applicable, and participate in the process of recommending and implementing nationally approved improvement initiatives · Monitor and ensure procedures are compliant with AAL, the Code of Practice and other regulatory standards and are followed correctly and service standards achieved · Implement and manage change improvements, facilitating learning and development opportunities that build capability within the team. · Build effective working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders, including injured claimants and/or their lawyers, rehabilitation advisors and medical professionals, to drive successful rehabilitation and return to work outcomes · Insurance Claims experience, preferably within CTP / Personal Injury · Qualifications in Law, Insurance, Medical, Allied Health or related disciplines · Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate technical legal terms/findings in ‘plain English’ to customers · Negotiation and conflict resolution skills About You · Extensive experience relevant to a designated functional area, in a team management or leadership role building high performing teams, supported by a strong understanding of general claims management principles · Ability to make independent as well as collaborative decisions during expected or unexpected situations and then taking responsibility for the consequences of decisions taken · Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and has the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information · Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands, and work under pressure in a fast paced environment. · Ability to interpret complex information and respond by developing appropriate actions · Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to balance understanding, empathy and compassion with the best commercial outcome for AAL.
