Our client, a reputable partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Shipping Officer. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both domestic and international shipping, with a strong understanding of road and air transportation. Responsibilities will include preparing export documentation, and having a thorough knowledge of incoterms, tariffs, and CPC codes. The Shipping Officer will work closely with the client's in-house export control team, customs department, and freight forwarders to ensure seamless operations. As a shipping officer, you'll oversee all exports from the site to meet customer demands worldwide by air or road. Adhere to their processes for a benchmark service. Key Responsibilities: Ensure timely delivery of products in alignment with project requirements. Create, complete, and manage documentation necessary for export deliveries, including transport documents, hazardous goods notes, and customs formalities. Maintain up-to-date Import, Export, and Transport Registers. Coordinate with both UK and international transport providers. Handle imports and report Intrastat data as required. Promote functional excellence within the team. Assist the Export Control Department in ensuring compliance with export licenses. Stay current with all transport legislation, including regulations on prohibited weapons. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all site movements on a daily basis.
