My client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their team. They are a well-established and leading supplier of rain water / grey water recycling systems, installed in residential, industrial and commercial building developments as well as airports and stadiums. Their ideal candidate will have a design background working in an engineering environment with a good understanding of the design and construction process, ideally with knowledge of using AutoCAD and Revit.
Junior Design Engineer role:
The key objectives & accountabilities of the Design Engineer are:
1. Sales design, feasibility proposals, technical specifications for water reclamation systems, mainly rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling.
2. Design works from feasibility study through to detailed design and tender stage to offer a competitive design solution in line with the company’s procedure and strategy.
3. Manage, prepare and create quotations for tender and design enquiries.
4. Assist in reviewing contract conditions and incorporate the company’s requirements within a written tender submission document.
5. Develop a close working relationship with contractors and consultants to ensure relevant information is available and deadlines are met.
6. Assist the Design Team with basic design works, specifically:
1. Creating and updating schematic and demarcation drawings using AutoCAD.
2. Creating basic 3D coordination models using Revit.
7. Create and update design concepts for water reclamation systems exploring new technology.
8. Create, improve and update internal procedures and design guides for the sales team.
Office location is central London with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week.
Junior Design Engineer Requirements:
1. Experience working in an engineering environment with a good understanding of the design and construction process.
2. Engineering qualification preferred (Diploma/Degree or equivalent).
3. Ability to work autonomously as well as integrate into the established team.
4. Work efficiently and be able to cope under pressure, working to tight deadlines.
5. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit beneficial, but not essential.
6. Ability to interpret mechanical and drainage drawings.
7. A desire to progress into a role where you can own and provide technical leadership on a project.
8. Good communicator with ability to develop, manage and maintain successful relationships, both internally and externally.
