Job Title: Duty Manager- Banqueting and Bars.

Reports to: Banqueting and Bar Manager/General Manager
The Duty Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage various aspects of hotel operations, overseeing all function and bar operations, staff supervision, and facility management. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a busy environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee all functions and function bars on each shift.
* Complete walkarounds of the hotel and ensure that everyone and everything is as it should be.
* Assist in departments to ensure smooth service.
* Greet and talk to guests, anticipating and following through on their requests.
* Maintain a good knowledge of the hotel and its facilities.
* Handle guest complaints.
* Manage emergencies that may occur.
* Monitor procedures and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Promote the hotel to prospective guests, functions, and conferences.
* Communicate effectively with the management team.
* Train, coach, counsel, and discipline employees as required.
* Attend relevant meetings as requested.
* Monitor cleanliness standards of the hotel and ensure maintenance of these standards.
* Ensure good lines of communication between departments.
* Set an example in presentation and grooming.
General Requirements
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, particularly in a Banqueting and Bar role.
* 100% flexible to work 5 days across 7, including Bank Holidays, weekends, early mornings, and late evenings.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with guests and staff.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet time deadlines.
* Experience in Health and Safety.
* Must hold a personal licence.
