The G4S Security Risk Management Team at Sizewell C are key
in the support of the SZC construction and Site Operation activities
and security operations.
Excellent opportunity to join a national infrastructure contract in Leiston. Suffolk
£ per hour
Full Time Position
40 hours per week permanent contract. Based on normal
office hours, as the team grows this role will cover the hours
between 06:00 - 21:00 hrs Monday to Friday.

Your Time at Work
The SZC Security Risk Management Coordinator's (SRMC)
mandate is to:
- Identify and mitigate the security risks to SZC construction
activities (Site Operations, logistics or construction) and to
ensure security compliance is maintained across the
project contracted partners. This is achieved by giving clear
guidance and direction on all security related matters to
SZC delivery leads and SZC Tier 1 contractors and
subcontractors, thus ensuring that the SZC security
arrangements are maintained in a diverse and challenging
environment.
- Support the Site Security Manager and Security Risk
Manager in assessing the adversarial threats and the
identified security risks towards the SZC project, with
proposed security mitigation measures to reduce the risk
ratings to a proportionate level.
- Increase the level of security support and engagement
within the Site Operations, logistics and construction to
support the SZC construction programme.
- Work closely with the Site Operations, logistics and
construction T1 contractor Security Responsible Persons
(SRP's) and sub contractors on all matters relating to
security.
- Deliver security assurance, continuous improvement,
training, and support on all things relating to security.
- Cover the duties of other members of the Security Risk
Management Team as directed by the Security Risk
Manager.
- Conduct Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVAs) on
behalf of the Site Security Manager.
- Detail security permit requirements for T1 contractors in
conjunction with SZC Permit Office.
- Attend co-ordination meetings and readiness reviews,
challenging areas that may impact security.
- Conduct NSL boundary checks

Construction/Project Support
The SRMC will assist the contract partner's Security Responsible Person (SRP) with:
- Forging relationships, influencing behaviours within designated work areas.
- Identify vulnerabilities and drive forward positive cultural change.
- Coordinate activities within designated work areas with the Contracted Guard Force (CGF)
and the Security Infrastructure Provider (SIP).
- Produce reports of activity across respective areas capturing engagement, observations,
and opportunities for improvement to be briefed back to the Security Risk manager.
Education
The SRMC will act as the security champion within their respective areas:
- Proactively engage with the SZC stakeholders within their areas of responsibility.
- Educate non security professionals on specific threats to their work and how to identify
security vulnerabilities.
- Develop a positive security culture within the T1 contracted partners.
- Mentor those with a key role in mitigating adversarial risk within their designated areas.
- Ensure that the approved security doctrine is followed when conducting Security
Vulnerability Assessments (SVA's) and Operational Requirements (ORs).
- Advise SRP's on SZC SVA process.
- Demonstrate and educate the contract partners on how the security team can assist with
security incidents when integrated into the notification processes.
Investigations
The SRMC will assist in any security investigation or enquiry within their respective areas, they are
to ensure:
- Confidentiality and a consistent approach are applied to any security enquiries before any
investigation commences.
- Liaison between the investigation team prior to any direction being given to a contract
partner to ensure any response is proportionate and in-line with the Project's business
objectives.
- Report directly to either the Security Risk Manager on any security issues so a plan of
approach can be agreed to deal with the identified issue.
- The SRMC will be instrumental within their geographical areas in ensuring that the work
force knows how to respond to a security event and that an effective response plan is in
place.
Crime Reduction
- Engage and collaborate with the Community Safety Officer to (CSO) ensure that the best
practices are identified and adopted within work areas, achieving common standards across
the project.
- Ensure a consistent approach to security awareness and that the advice is aligned with the
Site Security Manager's strategic intent as detailed in the SZC Site Security Plan.
Assurance
The SRMC will conduct assurance activities on a continuous basis, such as:
- Ensuring that arrangements within the contract partner's Security Management Plan (SMP)
are applied and being adhered to.
- Complete security assurance reports to summarise compliance within their respective
areas.
- Assuring assignment instructions and other operational instructional documentation and
procedures.
Skills and Competencies
The Security Risk Management Coordinator must have:
- Capable of producing contract and client documentation ensuring compliance with
procedures.
- Attention to detail when producing written reports and documents.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Ability to interact with T1 SRPs and other contracted partners.
- Ability to confidently deliver security briefings/presentations to T1 contracted partners.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong Leadership.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
The Security Risk Management Coordinator must be able to:
- Work within a small, close-knit team.
- Operate in a diverse and challenging environment.
- Adopt an innovative approach.
- Remain customer focussed for the benefit of the project construction activities
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- L3 Security Risk Management certification or above.
- Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor or Security Guarding within the
Private Security Industry or higher (not essential but part of onboarding).
- Level 3 HSE certification (not essential).
Preferred Experience:
- A security professional with prior experience gained in a corporate, Critical
National Infrastructure, Police or Military environment.
- Ideally have knowledge of construction activities or large infrastructure projects.
- Experience and understanding of project management.
- Thorough understanding of H&S requirements.
- Previous experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
(preferred but not essential).

Occupational Requirements:
- SIA Licence.
- Physical Intervention Qualified.
- NVQ L3 Management minimum target (D).
- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting.
- UK Driving License.
- Produce a Five-year verifiable work history.
- Risk Management certification.
