SEN Teaching Assistant Crosby, Liverpool Full-Time | Long-Term | £95 per day | Immediate Start Prospero Teaching is currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Crosby, Liverpool. This role requires significant experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small-group support, working closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure students receive the best possible care and education. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location Crosby, Liverpool Position SEN Teaching Assistant Type of work Full-time, long-term Start date ASAP Duration / Likely Duration Ongoing Contract type Temporary, long-term Minimum rate of pay £95 per day Hours 8:30 am 3:30 pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS Extensive experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural needs Strong understanding of individualised learning approaches and sensory regulation strategies Confidence in working 1:1 and within small groups, helping students build independence and confidence Experience with PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, or similar SEN communication and behaviour management techniques (desirable) Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) preferred but not essential ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN, adapting learning materials as needed Implement individual behaviour and learning plans, supporting children with emotional regulation and engagement Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure effective SEN strategies Create a nurturing and structured learning environment, both inside and outside the classroom Assist with EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) implementation and contribute to progress reports Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to support children in challenging situations TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one) Provide two professional child-related references If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up-to-date CV.
