THALES are looking to recruit a dynamic & experienced ILS Supportability Engineer to join a UK-wide ILS Team of talented Supportability Engineers who service Land, Sea & Air sectors for both military & commercial customers for our Service Engineering Division .
ILS is an integral part of the wider, multi-disciplinary Through Life Support Engineering (TSE) Team. As part of this ‘One-Team’ the successful individual will support and be supported by specialists in Tech. Pub’s, Training, Obsolescence, Service Solution Architecture and Product Support Engineering. Together we deliver excellence and value to our customers.

What will you deliver?
10. Work as an experienced supportability / engineering team member to take responsibility for assigned work packages. Work packages can encompass;
11. Core supportability tasks centred on Reliability, Maintainability, Availability & spares modelling.
12. Wider TLSE requirements and team relationships - built via engaging specialists from other logistic support elements within the TLSE environment for either guidance or technical input (for example, Obsolescence, Asset Management, Repairs, Technical Publications and Training).
13. As well as supportability modelling as per above, analyses will be presented at relevant project reviews (PDR or CDR) and written into specific documentation (ARM Case or Supportability Case) or over-arching documentation (Integrated Support Plan) for artefact deliveries both internally and externally.
14. Progress assigned supportability engineering activities & manage work package.
15. Provide Work Package management inputs to programme management as required.
16. Provide regular updates to and/or attend regular status reporting with line manager.
17. Make supportability / engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
18. Support programmes in matters of technical understanding and support in areas of own expertise.
19. As an established practitioner provide help & guidance to other TLSE team members when required.
20. Contribute to relevant Thales Engineering Communities of Interest.
21. Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, risk management, quality and HSE.
22. Set targets for and manage own development with line manager.
23. Seek & share good practice & knowledge to continuously improve own and team practices.
24. Contribute to the development & continuation of successful local supply chain relationships.
Who are we looking for?
25. Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent.
26. Significant ILS experience, including:
27. Through-Life Cost and spares modelling – ideally experienced with the Systecon OPUS tool.
28. Logistic Support Analysis
29. Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Studies
30. FMECAs
31. Initial Provisioning
32. DRACAS
33. LSAR Database creation and maintenance (ideally ‘Eagle’) experience an advantage.
34. Work Package Management experience.
35. Conversant with Microsoft Office Toolset
36. Experience in effective collaboration with Design Engineering Teams and supporting disciplines.
37. Experience of technical and commercial contact with customers, partners and suppliers.
38. Experience in supporting bids, producing bid estimates and creating, taking ownership of associated ILS deliverables; e.g. spares analysis, maintainability analysis etc. and creation & release of formal documentation deliverables.
39. Experience in ILS support of Military equipment would be an advantage.
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
