The post-holder will be responsible for the production of UHS Security ID badges for staff and other groups, ensuring the correct levels of access on all systems.
Updating Salto locks over various sites using a handheld PPD.
Maintaining stocks of Mifare cards and consumables.
Responding to email queries regards ID’s and access.
Attending inductions to take photos for staff and other groups, where required.
Keeping the ID suite and equipment therein clean, tidy and well maintained.
Cleaning card printers regularly.
They will work unsupervised outside of core hours

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·Effect communication with staff to ensure that all ID’s are produced, or reproduced in a timely, and accurate manner.
·Communicate the UHS Security ID policy to staff relating to ID production and access.
·Ensure that effective communication pathways exist between all internal and external agencies, to assist in the maintenance of access control system and production.
·Maximise opportunities to prevent or reduce security breaches regards access and ID misuse by publicising and learning from operational experience about previous occurrences.
Deal with sensitive issues regards requests for information and photographs held on the access control systems

Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Good working knowledge of I.T. and access control systems.
2. Practical Experience of Administration of databases.
3. Knowledge of security in NHS or other large complex organisations,
4. Knowledge and use of cameras and download software
5. Knowledge and understanding of ID printers and printing
Desirable criteria
6. Working understanding of NHS IT networks and NHS data communication pathways
7. Knowledge of use of ACT, Salto and Traka software to administration level, including report production and problem solving
8. Experience of producing security ID cards abd assigning the correct access.
9. Knowledge of University Hospital Sussex wards and departments
10. Knowledge of the Datix System for incident reporting
