Sodexo, with over 40 years of experience supporting the UK, US, and French defence forces, is committed to enhancing the physical and mental well-being of military personnel. We work closely with military leaders to create a positive environment on base that supports individuals, the wider community, and the environment.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly organised Hospitality and Events Manager to join our team at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire. This role will oversee the operational management of the Mess, a vibrant social and dining hub for military personnel, while also supporting large-scale hospitality functions.
The Mess is not just a dining facility; it is a home away from home for our forces. With this in mind, you will lead with a strong focus on customer service and ensure that the needs of our personnel are at the heart of everything you do. The day-to-day operations are dynamic and fast-paced, with the preparation, cooking, and serving of up to 50 fine dining meals per sitting.
Our events range from intimate private dinners to large-scale weddings and conferences, so significant experience in planning and executing high-profile events is essential. While the role is primarily Monday to Friday, flexibility is required to manage up to 10 events per year, which will occur during evenings and weekends.
You will be expected to maintain the highest standards, leading by example and embodying the professionalism and integrity expected by the military personnel at RAF Halton. Proven experience in the hospitality sector is essential, along with resilience, time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and customer service skills are key, and some knowledge of the military environment is highly desirable.
Please note that due to the nature of this role, all appointments are subject to security clearance, which requires a minimum of five years of proven UK residency.
