About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work alongside teaching staff and the SENCo to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and SEMH challenges. Your role will involve both one-to-one and group-based support, aiming to ensure all students have access to the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted support to pupils with EHCPs or diagnosed special needs. Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials and managing behaviour. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff. Promote independence and life skills in both academic and social settings. Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement to build pupil confidence. Job Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or specialist setting. A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties. Patience, resilience, and a caring nature to support students’ unique learning journeys. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs. A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
