Job summary Band 7 - Diabetes Specialist Nurse Full-time - 37.5 hours per week - job share/part time may be considered £51,883 - £58,544 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the multi-disciplinary Diabetes Service with Bromley Healthcare, based at Beckenham Beacon and sites across Bromley. It is an opportunity for someone with an enthusiasm for diabetes and a wish to extend their expertise in this field. The post will include responsibility for a mixed caseload including people with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes You will need to be confident in delivering education to groups and ideally have experience of structured educations programmes e.g. DESMOND/ DAFNE. You will be involved in the development of diabetes within the Bromley Healthcare Diabetes Service. You will need to show empathy and sensitivity to the needs of the patients, have good communication skills, together with a friendly, polite and professional attitude. You will need excellent clinical, organisational, IT and communication skills. Proposed interview date 22nd May 2025 Main duties of the job Provide comprehensive, evidence-based diabetes care for people with diabetes and healthcare professionals within the Bromley Work as a highly-skilled independent practitioner implementing and recommending treatment based on expert clinical Provide comprehensive evidence-based highly specialist clinical care, training, and consultancy to both people with diabetes and other professionals. Providing advice, support, and education to GP Practices, and providing care in a range of settings including the diabetes centre, patient's homes, and nursing homes.
