Force Recruitment are recruiting for a leading Mechanical & Civil Engineering company based in the East Midlands, specialising in the prefabrication, welding, and installation of pipework systems. They are currently looking for an experienced Environmental Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating environmental activities across the head office and construction sites, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver Environmental Plans to ensure compliance on all contracts.
* Support and maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.
* Collaborate with management, clients, and stakeholders to improve environmental practices.
* Conduct audits to monitor environmental and statutory compliance across all sites.
* Train and mentor staff on Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and environmental legislation.
* Lead the verification of legal compliance and ensure site compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
* Support environmental consents and permit applications as required.
* Provide monthly reports on environmental strategies and initiatives to senior management.
* Promote a positive environmental culture within the company, fostering employee engagement and communication.
Ideal Candidate:
* IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
* 5-10 years of experience in the environmental field, ideally within the oil & gas industry.
* Experience with CDM 2015 Regulations and ISO 14001 audits.
* Solid knowledge of environmental legislation and statutory compliance.
* Ability to manage environmental issues, provide advice, and implement corrective actions.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work across all levels of the business.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
* Full UK driving licence and strong IT skills.
