OBJECTIVES:
As a Server, your main duties would include greeting customers as they arrive, showing them to their table, giving out menus and taking orders for food and drink, serving food and drinks, dealing with bill payments (where necessary), and making sure tables are clean and tidy.
**Must have previous Food and Beverage experience
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: an exceptional working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, and the order of service.
* Greet guests and present them with the menu
* Inform guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any
* Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell
* Take food and beverage orders from the guest
* Issue receipts, accept payments, returning the change
* Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by your supervisor
* Fill in for absent staff as needed
* Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries
* Co - ordinate with colleagues to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction
* Serve food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order
* Observe guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service
* Promptly respond to guests with any additional request
* Maintain a proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
* Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
* Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
* Understand and communicate products and services available at the property
* Assist with stocking and maintaining the Food and Beverage outlets par stock levels and stations
* Help other areas of the Food and Beverage operations such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions
* You will be punctual for all shifts, and of a clean and smart appearance
HEALTH & SAFETY:
* You will report all potential and real hazards immediately to the General Manager, including faulty equipment.
* You will be fully aware of hotel emergency procedures (fire & accident)
* You will be required to attend all Health & Safety / Fire Safety training provided for you by the hotel, and will be expected to have and maintain a general awareness of Health & Safety in relation to all tasks undertaken in the hotel.
