We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activities and Well-being Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop and implement engaging programmes that promote social interaction, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional wellbeing for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, and facilitate daily recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs
* Develop monthly activity calendars with diverse programming, including social events, games, arts and crafts, music, exercise classes, and outings
* Assess residents' interests, capabilities, and preferences to create person-centered activity plans
* Encourage and motivate resident participation while respecting individual choices
* Coordinate with external community organisations and arrange for visiting entertainers, volunteers, and special events
* Maintain appropriate documentation of resident participation and engagement
* Manage the activities budget and supplies
* Collaborate with care staff to integrate activities with residents' overall care plans
* Support residents' emotional wellbeing through one-on-one interactions and group activities
* Facilitate inter-generational programmes and community integration
Qualifications
* Experience in activity coordination or recreation therapy, preferably in a care home or similar setting
* Understanding of the physical, social, and emotional needs of older adults
* Knowledge of person-centered care principles
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Creative problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Compassionate and patient demeanor
* First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Clean background check and driving record
Education and Experience
* Diploma or degree in recreation therapy, leisure studies, gerontology, or related field preferred
* Minimum 1-2 years experience working with older adults
* Experience in a residential care setting is an advantage
Hours and Benefits
* Full-time position (40 hours per week)
