- Grade 2 Point 16: Starting at £24,724 FTE per annum, rising to £27,232 FTE (10 hours per week = £6,682.16 - £7,360.00 per annum, pro rata)

Family Action & the Role’s Impact:
At Family Action we support people through change, challenge or crisis. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
You will work closely with the Family Time Manager and Coordinator and take a lead on the quality assurance of work completed by the Medway Family Time team. This includes the quality assuring of reports and supporting the development and implementation of an audit system focusing on the use of Inform. You will support the supervision and management of the service, including deputising for the Service Coordinator when appropriate and support our drive for continuous improvement and the implementation of associated changes.
Main Responsibilities:
* To lead on the quality assurance of Medway Family Time reports ensuring that they are of a high quality and meet the KPIs linked to them.
* To embed good practice of report writing in the existing team and to support the induction of new members of staff.
* To support staff who need to improve their report writing skills to ensure that they quickly meet the required standards.
* To have a good operational knowledge of Inform and to support the development, implementation and audit of the database.
* To work with the Service Manager and Coordinator to implement audit processes which include the writing, quality assuring of reports and the meeting of KPIs associated with this work.
* To support the work required to achieve and maintain NACCC accreditation.
* To support the delivery of safe and effective supervised Family Time sessions.
* To line manage a small number of Family Time supervisors.
* To promote and maintain Family Time arrangements that are agreed between all parties including respecting the wishes of children and young people.
* To ensure you have an understanding of, and comply with, Family Action’s and Medway’s procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults, undertaking risk assessments before each session ensuring that the risks identified by Social Workers are mitigated.
* To ensure that all supervised Family Time sessions are managed to ensure as positive experience for the children and young people as possible, and to ensure during sessions that the key areas for observation identified by the Social Worker are addressed, and use this evidence to complete detailed and timely reports as required by the court and/or principal social worker.
Main Requirements:
* Educated to level three or above (or working towards/willing to work towards) with experience of or a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education, early years, youth work or equivalent, and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development.
* The ability to work with families in conflict and the importance of remaining impartial, objective and focused on the needs of the child/children at all times.
* A confident and professional approach to working with service users, stakeholders and colleagues.
* Excellent verbal, listening and written skills, including good IT skills.
* The ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively including the timely completion and submission of case records and reports.
* Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced Children and Adults.
