We are looking to recruit x3 part time roles for a Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist and Speech and language therapist. The hours of these roles will be discussed at interview and are dependent on successful candidates and current available funding.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist and Speech and language therapist to take up the role of clinical specialists for the NeuroRehab Online (NROL) service. This is an exciting opportunity for clinicians to develop digital skills to develop and support virtual groups for rehabilitation and self management within the current NROL service.
All roles will be fixed term contracts ending on the 24th February 2026.
As part of this role, you'll help create and implement new therapy groups into the NROL programme whilst facilitating the delivery of these online groups with patients.
You will be a healthcare professional with a strong clinical background, ideally with experience of stroke and neurorehabilitation. You will have excellent clinical qualities and experience of treating patients in the community. You will be responsible for reviewing current group content whilst developing new online groups. A large part of your role will be delivering the NROL groups to up to 15 patients per session, with the aim to increase therapy frequency and intensity for our patients as per national clinical guidelines, and continuing to improve patient outcomes and experience.
You will work closely with all staff within NROL and referring teams, ensuring high quality, effective and efficient care for patients. You will work in partnership with Operational Leads, Clinical service leads, and the NROL lead.
ELHT is the host organisation with delivery involving patients and therapists from across the providers in the Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB and in collaboration with Lancaster University.
An ability to work virtually and across all sites at ELHT as required is essential.

The NROL team have been delivering virtual group therapy for over three years, establishing a community of practice in stroke & neurorehabilitation, with NROL embedded as part of service delivery across Lancashire & South Cumbria.
NROL is an innovative online program providing virtual rehabilitation group therapy and self management for stroke and neurological patients. The post will support a funding bid into ways to scale and develop the NROL model further to meet national guidelines for therapy post stroke. You will be working closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Assistants, researchers at Lancaster University, technology support and admin within the NROL service, along with receiving support from SameYou charity, Health Innovation North West Coast and ELAROS digital technology company.
Working within the NROL service which supports multidisciplinary teams across the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICS, you will act as the Clinical Lead for your profession within the NROL service providing a high level of clinical expertise with regard to highly specialist assessment skills and interactions within a defined patient group, with therapy delivery predominantly online in groups within the NROL programme.
Provide clinical leadership to designated therapists in the delivery of a highly effective, safe and personal service, delivered around the needs of individual patients/carers as described by agreed goals/outcome measures and within defined clinical pathways.
An active member of the leadership structure, the postholder will contribute toward the strategic operational and clinical development of the service.
Provide teaching and highly specialist support in the management of complex conditions, educating other healthcare professionals and wider stakeholders.
The service operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.
MAIN DUTIES include:
1. Support the development of the current NROL program, reviewing current content and developing evidence-based content in collaboration with key stakeholders and clinical staff.
2. Lead the delivery of high-quality online groups within the NROL programme and review and evaluate the quality of the therapy provided.
3. Provide clinical leadership and highly specialised expertise to a defined patient group to ensure that pathways, standards, competencies, training and monitoring are in place for the designated team, using agreed clinical pathways.
4. Undertake comprehensive assessments at a highly specialist level, set patient centred goals, create evidence-based treatment plans, monitor, and evaluate a designated caseload of patients.
5. Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical factors including physical, environmental, psychosocial, mental, and cultural aspects of the patient’s life, providing advice and intervention to facilitate an optimum level of function.
6. Formulate goals in partnership with the patient, clearly communicating your clinical reasoning to justify your recommendations and utilising the most appropriate treatment/intervention for the patients’ needs.
7. Responsible for the effective management of a complex caseload individually and within the team, requiring allocation and reallocation of work on a daily basis to meet changing clinical priorities and adherence to quality and performance measures.
8. Contribute to the wider multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based expertise within your specialist area.
9. Contribute to the creation and review of procedures, standards and guidance relating to clinical practice and monitor effectiveness.
10. Liaise with peers and specialist interest groups both regionally and nationally, to collaborate, share learning and develop shared resources to achieve standardised, best practice within your clinical area.
11. Ensure the service provided by yourself and your team is safe, personal and effective, achieving compliance to governance standards through monitoring, performance, incident reporting, risk management, outcome measures, patient experience, compliments and complaints.
12. Assess capacity of patients in order to gain valid informed consent for intervention and work within organisational policy with patients who lack capacity.
13. Initiate and organise reviews involving multiagency partners, taking the role of key worker, coordinator where required.
