THE ROLE

Salary: £13.95 per hour
Duration: 12-18 months
Hours: Full-time
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
As a Butcher Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the entire butchery process. From understanding different cuts of meat and poultry to mastering the art of preparation, you’ll develop the skills needed to become a skilled butcher. This apprenticeship will cover:
1. Identifying and selecting various cuts of meat
2. Learning safe and efficient knife skills
3. Understanding hygiene, safety, and food regulations
4. Preparing and presenting products for sale
5. Developing customer service skills by interacting with customers
6. Supporting the team in daily operations, including stock control and waste management
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We’re searching for individuals who are eager to learn, committed, and passionate about a career in butchery. The ideal candidate will have:
1. A strong interest in food, particularly meat products
2. A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
3. Good communication and teamwork skills
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
5. Physical stamina and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment
6. No prior experience is necessary, but a dedication to the craft and a desire to build a long-term career is essential.
