We offer a truly exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses to join us in our community-based Health Protection Service.
Working primarily in a vaccination & immunisation role, you will also enjoy the benefits of gaining experience in our developing wider Health Protection model.
These posts will be of interest to highly motivated nurses who can demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic commitment to population health protection.
Successful applicants will work flexibly across the Health Board providing the highest standard of vaccination, immunisation, and testing services to both our general public and also our staff who live and work in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, and Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
As one of our Vaccination & Immunisation/Health Protection Nurses, you will undertake vaccinations and testing interventions in a wide variety of locations across the Health Board, including as a lone worker when required. Such settings will include all key health and social care sites, community vaccination and testing centres, a wide range of primary care and community clinic locations, as well as care homes. We also offer a service to our housebound patients and clients.
Our programmes of work will target all population ages from our very youngest citizens right through to the young at heart. The overseeing of population health checks, ensuring patients are signposted according to local pathways, along with duties aligned with the work of the overarching Health Protection function are all important elements of the role.

Working very flexibly right across the footprint of the Health Board, and as and when service demand within vaccination and immunisations changes, post holders will be required to support a wide range of evolving service priorities.
As a member of the team, you will also be key in supporting our response to outbreak testing and mass immunisation programmes as needed.
The Vaccination & Immunisation/Health Protection Nurse will work alongside our many key partners and stakeholders, including our Specialist Immunisation Team and Public Health colleagues, in order to meet Welsh Government targets for immunisation. This will require post holders to have a demonstrably positive approach to making every client contact count.
Travel to other locations across the Health Board in a timely manner, sometimes at short notice, will routinely be needed.
There may also be a requirement for work at weekends and Bank Holidays.
