As NICEIC contractors, our client possesses the mandatory Highways Agency Sector Scheme Approval to carry out electrical works on the HA motorway network. Main Purpose of the Role:
* To conduct work in accordance with the specified requirements of the job.
* Responsible for undertaking various pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks and new installation work encompassing CCTV, speed camera, and ANPR equipment.
* Take part in an out-of-hours call-out system on a rota basis.
* Prepared to work varying shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
* Carry out duties to ensure personal safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your acts.
* Work well with others.
* Be patient and remain calm in stressful situations.
* Report any activity that has, or may have, a negative effect on the site, the company, or surrounding environment and take such actions necessary as directed or advised.
Key Tasks:
* Installation of electrical systems and testing of installations in accordance with the current 18th edition.
* Analysis and fault finding on various electrical equipment installations and supply cables.
* Be able to splice fibre cable (Fusion Splicing) and carry out proving, fault finding using visible light source, light source and power meter. Training available.
* Analysis and fault finding on various CCTV networks and camera systems.
* Offsite construction of equipment.
* Cable jointing and identification of supply cables including excavation and reinstatement of the highway to the required standard using appropriate plant and equipment.
* Repair and/or installation of street furniture including columns, various types of roadside cameras, luminaires, and associated equipment.
* The electrical testing and inspection of all installations and street furniture.
* The cleaning and maintenance of street furniture and components.
* Daily inspection of equipment, vehicles, and plant.
* Day-to-day maintenance and repair of cameras and associated electronic equipment allied to the installation.
* Completion of required documentation including NICEIC test sheets to agreed standards.
* Compliance with all appropriate legislation regarding electrical installations.
* Ensure that all stated safety policies, procedures, and instructions are adhered to and that all necessary records and checks are maintained.
* Ensure that all works are adequately protected and the safety of the workforce, public, and vehicles is maintained at all times.
* Participate in approved training appropriate to the trade.
* Undertake other duties of a similar nature as may be requested by management.
* General ground works.
* Ensure that all labour, plant, and materials necessary for carrying out the works are in place.
* Pulling cables.
* General housekeeping on all sites.
* Any other tasks deemed necessary for the role.
