The candidate will work to further develop the service with haemoglobin disorders, providing clinical advice and as a care co-ordinator for children and young people affected by Sickle Cell and Thalassemia attending Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust (BHRUT) In addition, the post holder will provide education and consultation widely to professional colleagues at BHRUT and the boroughs it serves. The overall aim of this post is to promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research, development, and innovation.It will be essential to work across the community and the hospital setting to improve standards and equity of care whilst promoting an integrated care pathway, suitable discharge planning and improving patient outcomes Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for delivering a high level of nursing care and have a holistic approach to children, young people and their families who have a diagnosis of sickle-cell anaemia and thalassaemia.
