This role offers the chance to play a key part in coordinating and scheduling production workflows, ensuring that manufacturing orders are met efficiently and on time. About the Role: As a Production Planner, you will act as the crucial link between the Supply Chain and Production teams, ensuring material availability, prioritising key parts, and facilitating cross-departmental communication. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules to meet manufacturing orders and project deadlines. Work closely with engineering, procurement, inventory, and operations teams to monitor stock levels, identify shortages, and escalate critical material gaps. Analyse production requirements, capacity constraints, and material availability to develop feasible production plans. Serve as the central point of contact between Programme, Supply Chain, and Production teams to provide updates on material constraints, delays, and resolutions. Translate sales forecasts into actionable supply and production plans, ensuring alignment with demand fluctuations and capacity constraints. Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence. Communicate production schedules, priorities, and updates to relevant stakeholders. Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for production. Continuously evaluate and optimise production planning processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimise waste. Maintain accurate production records and documentation, including schedules, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Skills & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field. Proven experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and implement effective solutions. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Proficiency in production planning software or ERP/MRP systems is highly desirable. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence in production planning and scheduling.
